Regridded derived from the polygon-based Peatlands of Canada Database pixel size in a straight latitude/longitude grid. We assume that many grid cells partially include water bodies, we also include an corner of the coverage has no data.
These images were produced by aggregating 1' gridded data layers derived from the polygon-based Peatlands of Canada Database (Tarnocai et al., 2000) to a 0.5 degree by 0.5 degree (or 30' by 30') pixel size in a straight latitude/longitude grid. We assume that the peatlands are equally distributed within each polygon. Because many grid cells partially include water bodies, we also include an aggregated image of percentage of water. A portion of the southwest corner of the coverage has no data.Peatland Maps, 30 minutes |

The peatland spatial cover (Tarnocai et al., 2000) is a simple cover of peatland types and their distribution related to each polygon. The aggregated images listed above correspond to the attributes associated with each polygon as follows:
PEAT-ID (Polygon ID)
BOG_PCT (Percentage of bog in polygon)
FEN_PCT (Percentage of fen in polygon)
TOTAL (Percentage of peatland in polygon)
TYPE (Dominant peatland type: bog, fen, bog & fen, water body)
