Our climate holdings include station data collected from the Global Historical Climatology Network (GHCN), which comprises thousands of stations worldwide and includes recorded data values spanning from 1753 to the 1990s. Modeled/gridded climate data are also available from the ORNL DAAC. Gridded data representing monthly mean values for variables such as mean temperature, diurnal temperature range, precipitation, rain days, sunshine hours, wet day frequency, vapor pressure, cloud cover, and ground-frost frequency were interpolated from climate station data using varying algorithms and techniques to provide global data coverage for the land surfaces of the earth. |
