Goals of the SAFARI 2000 Data and Information System:
- To make SAFARI 2000 field and remote sensing data readily available to the project team both in the
United States and southern Africa
- The Mercury metadata search and data retrieval system will be used to share data
- SAFARI 2000 Investigators are to register their data in Mercury using the Metadata Editor
- To assist in preparing selected data sets for synthesis and analysis
- To assist in preparing selected data for archive and distribution after the SAFARI 2000 project
