Suggestions for future
work/collaborations
1)
CV-580. There is a need to check the results against those
from the CV-580/other boundary layer aircraft. Of particular importance are the
aerosol size distributions and the derived optical parameters. We have no
instrumentation for measuring humidification factors.
2)
MODIS/MODIS simulator. We
have a number of in-situ size distributions and derived optical depths that
should be used to assess the accuracy of the MODIS retrievals. The radiative
effect in both the short-wave and terrestrial spectra has been measured by
C-130 instruments.
3)
MOPPITT. We measured
many chemical compounds including O3, CO, NO, NOx. Vertical profiles are
readily available on the web-site.
4)
Sun-photometers. Early results are very encouraging, particularly the comparison between
the aircraft in-situ measurements and the Dubovik inversion. Size
distributions, single scattering albedos, and real and imaginary parts of the
refractive index are all in excellent agreement.
